Bruschetta (Mauricio Santa Cruz) sails into the harbor after winning the 2007 Worlds in Nuevo Vallarta, MEX

These are the best of the best J/24 teams, including defending 2010 World Champion Tim Healy from Newport, RI, three time world champion (2009, 2007, 2006) Mauricio Santa Cruz from Brazil.  Missing from the roll call are the Europeans (other than the four teams from Italy and one from England), the Japanese, and Canadians; perhaps this is a telling sign of the times with our global economy still fairly unstable.

Team Hot Pursuit will be travelling down to Buenos Aires early in order to sail the Pre-Worlds, November 5 & 6. Many of the competitors will not be arriving until after the Pre-Worlds, but our plan was to get there early, get our bearings, go sailing, then do some sightseeing before the Worlds begins on November 11.  We’ll see how that all works out.
